Precision Paving
Your driveway is the first thing you see when you come home. It should feel like a welcome. We lay precision paving for driveways, pathways, and entertainment areas across the Cape Peninsula. Properly prepared, properly finished, built to hold up through everything Cape winters throw at it.
Why It Matters
Most paving failures are not a paving problem. They are a preparation problem. The sub-base was not compacted correctly. The fall was not calculated properly. The edging was not secured. Then the Cape winter arrives: heavy rain, saturated ground, runoff that has nowhere to go. A surface that looked fine in summer starts to shift, sink, and pool water within two or three seasons.
By that point, lifting and relaying is often as expensive as starting again.
At Econo Projects, every paving job starts with the ground beneath it. Theo assesses the gradient, drainage, and soil condition before a single brick is ordered. That assessment determines how the job is built, not a generic price list.
An uncompacted base allows movement under load. Bricks shift, edges lift, and puddles form where your car parks.
Water that pools on paving accelerates deterioration and becomes a slip hazard. Getting the fall right is a calculation, not an estimate.
Without a solid edge restraint, paving spreads outward under traffic. A small gap becomes a wide gap within a year.
What We Do
Whether you are starting from scratch or fixing what is already there, we work with you from assessment through to final sweep.
A full installation from sub-base preparation through to finished surface. We assess the gradient and drainage before anything else, so the final result holds up long-term.
From a garden path to a full outdoor entertainment space, we lay paving that complements your property and handles Cape weather without complaint.
If your existing paving has shifted, sunk, or developed low spots, we lift, re-prepare the base, and relay to a level finish.
Individual brick replacement, edge restraint repairs, and joint resanding for paving that just needs attention in specific areas.
“A driveway should last twenty years, not two. The difference is almost always in what happens before the first brick goes down.”
How It Works
Theo visits personally to assess the area, gradient, drainage, and existing ground condition. This is free and commits you to nothing.
You receive a detailed quote based on the actual site, not a guess from a photo. Materials, preparation, and timeline included.
The team prepares the sub-base correctly before a single brick is laid. Theo oversees every stage of the job.
The area is cleaned up and handed over. The job is not finished until it is right.
A site assessment costs nothing and tells you exactly what the job involves. Call, email, or send a WhatsApp. Whichever is easiest.

Common Questions
As a general guideline, we recommend waiting at least 24 hours before light foot traffic and 48 to 72 hours before driving on newly laid paving. Theo will advise the specific timeline for your job based on conditions.
We do not lay paving on a wet sub-base or during active rain. If conditions change during a job, we pause rather than compromise the preparation. We will let you know in advance if weather is likely to affect your scheduled start.
We will do our best to source a close match. Exact matches depend on the age and manufacturer of your existing bricks. Theo will assess this during the site visit and advise honestly on what is achievable.
Every job includes excavation to the correct depth, compaction of the sub-base, and a sand-setting bed. The specifics depend on the load the surface will carry (foot traffic vs vehicles) and are determined during the site assessment.
This depends entirely on the size and complexity of the job. A standard single driveway is typically completed in one to two days. Larger or more complex areas take longer. You will have a clear timeline before work starts.
Yes, where required. Removal and disposal is included in the quote. There are no surprise costs added after the fact.

Whether you are starting from scratch or replacing what is already there, the first step is the same. A site assessment, at no charge. Theo visits personally, looks at the site, and tells you exactly what the job involves.
