Boundary Walling
Your boundary wall does more than mark the edge of your property. It's the first line of defence between your home and everything outside it. It shapes how your property looks, how secure it feels, and how well it holds up over time.
In Cape Town, that last part matters more than most people realise.
The Environment
The Cape Peninsula is one of the most demanding environments in South Africa for any boundary installation. Salt air from the Atlantic and False Bay accelerates corrosion in posts and fittings. The Cape Doctor puts sustained lateral pressure on every panel, every season. Shifting soils in suburbs like Kraaifontein, Brackenfell, and Durbanville mean foundations that aren't set correctly will move.
A vibracrete wall installed without accounting for these conditions won't fail dramatically. It will lean slightly. Then a little more. Then the posts will start to go. By the time it's obvious, the repair bill is often close to the cost of a full replacement.
That's the wall we spend a significant amount of our time fixing.
Atlantic & False Bay exposure attacks posts and fittings year-round.
Sustained lateral pressure on every panel, every season.
Incorrect foundations move — a slow lean that ends in replacement costs.
Our Approach
At Econo Projects, every installation starts with a proper site assessment. Theo Lassen — founder and owner — visits every site personally before a single panel is ordered. He looks at the soil, the gradient, the exposure, and the existing boundary condition. That assessment determines how the installation is engineered, not a generic quote template.
We install new vibracrete boundary walls, replace failing or damaged installations, extend existing walls for added height and privacy, and repair leaning panels and deteriorating posts. Every job is managed from initial assessment through to final handover. One conversation, one point of contact.
“We don't compete on being the cheapest. We compete on being the last wall you'll ever need.”

How It Works
Theo visits personally to assess the soil, gradient, exposure, and existing boundary condition. Free, no obligation.
You receive a detailed quote based on the actual site: foundation depth, post specification, and materials suited to your specific conditions.
The team builds to the agreed specification. Theo oversees every stage of the job.
The site is cleared and the installation is handed over. The job is not complete until it meets The Econo Standard.
Whether you need a new installation, a replacement, a wall extension, or a repair, the first step is the same: a site assessment at no charge.

Common Questions
Post depth depends on the soil type, wall height, and site exposure. All of these are assessed during the site visit. Correct foundation depth is one of the primary differences between a wall that holds for twenty years and one that starts to lean within five.
Requirements vary by municipality and by the height of the wall. Theo will advise based on your specific situation during the site assessment. You may want to verify current requirements with the City of Cape Town directly.
Heavier panels offer greater structural integrity and are better suited to taller walls, higher-wind areas, and applications where additional security mass is beneficial. Theo will specify the appropriate panel for your site.
Demolition and removal of the existing structure is included in the quote where required. There are no hidden costs added after the fact.
This depends on the length and complexity of the job. Most standard residential boundary wall installations are completed within one to three days. You will have a clear timeline before work starts.
Yes. Wall extensions are one of our standard services. Theo will assess the existing wall structure first. An extension is only as sound as the original installation it is built on.
It depends on how far it has leaned, the condition of the posts, and the state of the foundations. Theo will give you an honest assessment. Sometimes individual posts can be reset. Often, by the time a lean is visible, a full reinstall is the more cost-effective long-term answer. We will tell you which applies.
Next Step
Whether you are installing a new boundary wall, replacing one that is past its best, extending for added height, or repairing what has started to lean. The first step is the same. A site assessment, at no charge. Theo visits personally, looks at the site, and tells you exactly what the job involves.
We will get back to you within 24 hours.
